Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: September 15, 2026
Citrus Valley Physical Therapy is committed to making citrusvalleypt.com usable by everyone, including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, zoom the page, or rely on other assistive technology. This statement describes our conformance target, the measures we have taken, what we know is still imperfect, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.
Conformance Target
We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced in the HHS Section 504 rule and commonly used to evaluate accessibility under the ADA. This site has not been certified by an outside auditor; the statement below reflects a manual and automated review completed before launch, not a guarantee of full conformance in every state the page can be in.
Measures We Have Taken
Building and reviewing this site, we have:
- Structured every page with landmark regions (header, navigation, main content, footer) and a "skip to main content" link so keyboard and screen reader users can bypass repeated navigation.
- Kept exactly one main heading per page and a logical heading order underneath it.
- Added a visible focus outline to every interactive element, since browsers' default outline had been suppressed in a few places without a replacement.
- Written meaningful alternative text for photos, including staff headshots that name the person and their role, and marked purely decorative graphics so screen readers skip them.
- Associated every form field with a visible, programmatically linked label, disclosed which fields are required in text, and tied error and help text to its field so assistive technology announces it.
- Checked text and interactive-control color combinations against the WCAG AA contrast minimums and adjusted the ones that fell short.
- Made sure animation and scroll-triggered reveals respect your operating system's "reduce motion" setting, and that content never depends on an animation finishing to become readable, including if a script fails to load at all.
- Confirmed the site's core content and the appointment-request form remain usable with JavaScript turned off.
- Verified the mobile menu can be opened, used and closed from the keyboard alone, with focus returning to the menu button on close.
- Run automated checks (axe-core) against every page template and corrected the violations they found.
Accessibility is not a one-time project. We plan to re-check this site whenever a new page template, form, or embedded tool is added, and periodically otherwise.
Known Limitations
Some content on this site is delivered by outside services we do not control end to end:
- Google reviews widget (on the homepage, powered by Elfsight): this widget renders inside our page but its internal keyboard and screen reader behavior is built and maintained by Elfsight, not by us. As a fallback, the same reviews are always reachable as plain text through the "View Reviews on Google" link next to the widget.
- Embedded Google Map (on booking and location sections): the map itself is Google's interface. We have given the map frame a descriptive title, and our clinic address and phone number are always available nearby as ordinary, readable links so the map is never the only way to find or reach us.
If you find any other part of the site that does not work with your assistive technology, please tell us using the contact information below and we will look into it.
