Citrus Valley Physical Therapy

Personal Training in Redlands

The exercises worked while somebody was watching. Then the plan ended, the gym membership went unused, and the old ache found its way back. Training here is the same clinic, the same staff, and a program built for the body you actually have.

01What It Is

What is personal training?

You have joined a gym before. You may still be paying for one. What you have not had is a program written by people who already know which of your joints does not tolerate load, and why. Training here is not a separate business bolted onto a clinic. It runs on the same floor, supervised by our clinical staff, and it starts from the same kind of movement assessment a physical therapy evaluation starts from. That is the difference between being handed a workout and being given a program that accounts for your history.

It takes two named forms. The Wellness Program is the longer one, about twelve one hour visits built around four components: flexibility, cardiovascular health, strength and conditioning, and nutrition. The clinic calls it the owner's manual to your body, which is a fair description of what you leave holding. Citrus Fitness is the condensed version, three visits covering flexibility and mobility, cardiovascular health, and strength and resistance training. Both are paid out of pocket rather than billed to insurance, and both are HSA, HRA and FSA eligible.

02Who It's For

Who it's for.

Training is for people who are not in a plan of care, or who have finished one and want to keep what they earned. If pain is what is on your mind right now, say so at the consultation and we will point you toward an evaluation first.

01

You just finished physical therapy

You got the knee back and you know exactly how. What you do not have is a plan for the next six months. Training keeps the load going after discharge, and program patients and graduates can add gym access for $75 a month to train on their own between visits.

02

The gym has never worked on your own

You go for three weeks, guess at the weight, tweak something, and stop. Citrus Fitness is three visits for $250, enough to leave with a program you understand, a warm up that suits you, and a straight answer about what to load and how often.

03

Your body needs the program built around it

An old back injury, arthritis in a hip, a shoulder that has been repaired. A generic template ignores all of it. The Wellness Program runs about twelve one hour visits at $85 a visit, or $800 for the full package paid upfront, and the programming is written around what your joints tolerate.

03What To Expect

What to expect from personal training in Redlands.

Nobody signs up for twelve visits sight unseen. Talk to a specialist first. It is genuinely a conversation. You should leave it knowing whether training is the right thing for you right now, or whether an evaluation should come first.

01

The initial conversation

Talk with a doctor of physical therapy or our registered dietitian. You describe what you are trying to do and what has gone wrong when you have tried before. We tell you which program fits, or we tell you that what you are describing sounds like something to evaluate clinically first. No referral needed to book it.

02

Your baseline and your program

The first working visit is an hour. We look at how you move rather than only at what you can lift: how you squat, how you reach overhead, what your balance does on one leg, what your breathing does under effort. Those findings, set against the four components of the program, become your written plan. Where nutrition is part of what you want addressed, that is where our registered dietitian comes in.

03

The visits, then the floor

Visits are one on one and one hour, supervised by clinical staff who know your file rather than by a stranger with a clipboard. Between visits, program patients and graduates can use the gym for $75 a month, which includes a workout towel, access to the gym floor equipment, and the InBody scale on request. That pairing is the point: coached sessions to set the program, open floor time to actually do it.

Good to know

Training and physical therapy are not the same thing. The Wellness Program and Citrus Fitness are wellness services paid out of pocket, and gym access is available only to patients and graduates of one of those two programs. If pain is what brought you here, book the evaluation instead and we will check your insurance benefits before anything else.
